Frequently Asked Questions
Are these paintings or photographs?
Each Earth Aura is truly a photograph in its technical creation. They are captured in-camera with no digital manipulation involved in post-production. They are printed with hand-mixed ink and printed on paper made of agave. These print choices allow the work to have a painterly quality. The ink looks quite matte, almost like a pastel, and the paper has a beautiful texture to it. These choices were deliberate to toy with the art world line between art and photography.
Does the work have glass in the framing?
Yes, as each Earth Aura is a work on paper Museum glass is used as protection against glare an UV rays. While this is the most advanced glass on the market there still can be a slight glare depending on placement of the art work. I recommend choosing a spot that is side-lit or to position a gallery light high and diagonal over each artwork as they love light and really shine when well-lit.
Is any artificial intelligence used in the creation of each artwork?
No. Each Earth Aura is created in its geographic location. It takes hundreds to thousands of shots to capture one or two that have the perfect harmonious lines. Only simple post-production editing is used to enhance saturation or to manually remove dust spots from the sensor.
How can I purchase an artwork?
While I often collaborate with galleries, I am not exclusively represented so you are welcome to reach out directly with purchase inquiries. Financing is available.
Is there an edition size for the work?
Yes, each Earth Aura is in editions of 3. Once the 3rd sells the work is retired and will never be printed again. The pricing is done on a sliding scale with the first being the initial price and the price increases as each edition sells. So this allows only 3 people in the world to own each art work.
